HOW THE SAINTS WENT FROM A 3-DAY DJ LESSON TO MAKING THE INTENTS ANTHEM

If you told Jules back in 2019 that he’d be making the anthem for one of the Netherlands’ biggest Hardstyle festivals, he probably wouldn’t have believed you. At that point he had just walked away from a career in top-level sports to chase something completely different – music production.

He started taking lessons at NS Audio and launched his first project under the name Kid Brutal. Then one day he got a call from Rick – a friend of a friend who had somehow landed a DJ gig but had no idea how to mix. Jules taught him the basics in three days. What started as a quick favor turned into something bigger. The two clicked, and the idea of performing together wouldn’t go away.

The Saints were born.

From Rescue Me to TUTUTU

Their first track, “Rescue Me,” caught the attention of DJ Adaro, who played it during a livestream. That support led to a release on Roughstate Recruits and kicked things off properly. From there, The Saints started building – playing Defqon.1, Rebirth Festival and Decibel Outdoor all in their debut year.

But the real turning point came in August 2024 when they dropped “TUTUTU” together with Invector. The track blew up and put them on the radar of every Hardstyle fan who wasn’t already paying attention. Their sound – a mix of raw kicks, euphoric melodies and orchestral layers – was unlike anything else in the scene. As they put it themselves: “holy melodies and crazy kicks.”

Joining the Dirty Workz family

It wasn’t long before The Saints found their home at Dirty Workz. The fit made sense – their energy, their ambition and their approach to production matched what the label has been about for 20 years. Since joining, they’ve released tracks like “Home,” “OG Raver,” “One (Your Name)” and “Till The End,” each one pushing their sound further.

Rise of Titans – the Intents 2026 anthem

This year, Intents Festival asked The Saints to create the official anthem alongside Vertile. The theme? Rise of Titans – ancient mythology, awakening gods, epic battles. If there’s any duo in Hardstyle whose sound was made for that kind of story, it’s these two.

The result is “Awake Me” – a track that brings everything The Saints are known for. Massive arrangements that feel like they belong in a movie soundtrack, layered over Vertile’s raw power. The anthem premiered back in April at an exclusive Boiler Room session in Tilburg. Only 350 people were there for the world premiere, making it one of the most intimate anthem reveals in festival history.

This weekend, 35,000 people will hear it at Intents Festival in Oisterwijk. From a three-day DJ lesson to making the anthem for a festival that’s been running since 2004 – not a bad run for a duo that’s only been around since 2022.

We’re proud to have them in the family.
