It’s that time of year again. The festival that every hardstyle fan circles on their calendar is almost here. Defqon.1 Weekend Festival returns to Walibi Holland in Biddinghuizen from June 25 to 28, and this year’s theme is “Sacred Oath”.
Here’s everything you need to know.
Sacred Oath
Every year, Defqon.1 picks a theme that sets the tone for the entire weekend. This year it’s Sacred Oath – and if the buildup is anything to go by, Q-dance is going all in on the atmosphere. Expect the storytelling, stage design, and overall experience to revolve around commitment, loyalty, and the unbreakable bond between the community and the music.
The anthem is created by D-Sturb, who has proven time and time again that he can deliver the kind of track that defines a festival weekend. For those who’ve heard his work, you know what to expect: raw power with cinematic depth.
What’s On The Lineup
The 2026 edition is packed with moments that fans have been waiting for. Here are some highlights:
Sefa’s comeback – “This is Sefa” kicks off on Friday at 11:30 on the RED stage. If you’ve missed him, this is the moment.
Radical Redemption returns – After three years away, Radical Redemption is back with “The Return to the Tribe” on the BLUE stage on Friday. That’s going to be heavy.
Brennan Heart & Hysta in The Spotlight – Two artists getting their own dedicated Spotlight moments, which always deliver something special.
Outsiders hosts the Opening Ceremony – The RED stage Opening Ceremony sets the tone for the entire weekend, and Outsiders is running it this year.
And that’s just scratching the surface. Multiple stages, four days, and hundreds of artists across every corner of hard dance.
The Basics
When: June 25-28, 2026 (Wednesday through Saturday)
Where: Walibi Holland, Biddinghuizen, Netherlands
What: The world’s largest hardstyle festival. Multiple stages, camping, and the legendary endshow.
Survival Tips
Bring hearing protection. This is not optional. Your ears need to last a lifetime, and the sound systems at Defqon are no joke. Get proper festival earplugs that reduce volume without killing the sound quality.
Comfortable shoes over cool shoes. You’re going to be on your feet for four days on uneven terrain. Choose function over fashion.
Stay hydrated. June in the Netherlands can go either way weather-wise, but when you’re dancing for hours you lose more water than you think. Drink water between the sets. Your body will thank you on day four.
Plan loosely. The timetable is massive and there will be conflicts. Accept that you can’t see everything. Pick your must-sees, but leave room to wander and discover something unexpected.
Charge your phone. Bring a power bank. Actually, bring two. Four days of photos, videos, and coordinating with friends will drain any battery.
See you at Biddinghuizen. The oath is about to be taken.
